Raising Gracious Children: Our Grateful Walk…
As I grow older and find myself concerned about the state of the world or my own personal ups and downs, I have learned to find comfort in gratitude. When I am being grateful, I slow down, I lighten up, I stop worrying, and I feel good. As a parent I try to encourage our daughters to find peace in this gracious state of being as well.
Going on a Grateful Walk…
One way to achieve this goal is to go for a grateful walk. I gave each of the girls their own camera and as we strolled through some of our favorite places, I invited them to think about and take pictures of all the things that they are grateful for.
Here are some of the highlights…
“Spending time on the beach with my family.”
“Going for walks on the wharf.”
“That we didn’t have any damage from the hurricane.”
“Having good books to read.”
