Our Atelier: Rebecca Brown
Thanks for taking a peek at our homeschool/art room. It’s taken a while to get here, but our basic philosophy is to give the kids lots of options and lots of variety. And while I love planning an art project and working with the kids, there is nothing better than glancing over there on a quiet afternoon and seeing them sitting on the carpet, surrounded by scraps of paper and happily gluing together some sort of artful monstrosity that comes straight from their brains. And as we all know, kid brains can tap into a crazy amount of genius – a genius we can only dream of of tapping into in our bill-paying-bottom-wiping-stress-inducing state of adulthood.
Maybe we should all go hang out in an art room more? Cut some paper, go through an entire bottle of glue in an afternoon and chase that with an entire roll of tape? Maybe we could find a little bit of our youth again.

What an inspiring room! This is the kind of thing I’d love to evolve into as my youngest grows out of the ‘seek and destroy’ phase ; ) I really LOVE the green table!
As a huge fan of organization, I absolutely love this space! I love that everything is so accessible to the kids. I love the punch of color from the table & that it’s such a great amount of space for spreading out & creating.
Wowie Zowie! That looks awesome! We have quite a bit of storage in our schoolroom, but not much wall space left over. Your’s looks so light filled and happy and organized. Good job!

I am in awe. And so inspired. Thank you for sharing!
Hi! Love the table and rug! Can you please tell me the style name where I can find one of each? Your space is so encouraging!

the table is from ikea – http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/60206611/ – this would be the closest thing to it (and i think i like it better
from here go to your local auto body shop and have them paint it with automotive paint – lots of bright colors and it is indestructible.
as far is from overstock.com and is their cheapest version of a chevron – but there are a lot nicer (i wanted something that wouldn’t make me cringe when they dropped paint on it) – it was @ $60.
best of luck!
