Lying Around: Getting to Quiet

May 10, 2012

Lying AroundSome of my most memorable times with the girls come from the quiet. The quiet that comes from long periods of unplanned, unstructured time, where the agenda is to have no agenda—no time limits, no place to go. I love when I can follow their lead, stay until they ask to go, and bask in the quiet… Because when we make peace with that quiet, give it space, and don’t try to fill it, you never know what can come next.

Mmmmm. How I do love those quiet times.

Ah the warmer days are finally here! We too have been getting out into nature as much as possible. (when I’m not sorting through stuff of course…yes I keep finding MORE to sort through!) Feels good though! :o )

Yes, it is so nice to be able to take off our shoes and walk through the grass :-) Sorting is great! It must feel wonderful…

The quiet times with the kids are the best – especially when the “unplanned” discoveries occur.
