Leaf Family

October 6, 2008

Over the past few weeks we have been collecting leaves and putting them into our leaf press.  After reading the book, Leaf Man by Lois Ehlert, the girls got very excited about the idea of creating leaf people.  When the leaves were ready they got straight to work. They were having so much fun that my husband and I joined in and together we created a leaf family.

I love these moments, when our whole family gets involved in a project together.  The conversation that comes up while we sit & create together is very insightful.  We had a great time, sipping tea, chatting and working together on our leaf family.

The next morning, the girls decided to make a “Leaf Family” book and movie based on another Lois Ehlert book called Snowballs.
