From Our Family to Yours: Playful Learning (The Book)

The first copies of Playful Learning (the book) have arrived. It is hard to explain the feeling of seeing it for the first time in print. The word humble is a good place to start. Then came vulnerability, feeling a bit exposed to the world. I had anticipated that I would want to shout from the mountain tops when the book finally arrived, yet instead I found myself wanting to hide under the covers.

But things started to change for me when the girls picked it up for the first time and started to flip through the pages together. It became a lovely stroll down memory lane as we recalled the conversations, funny moments, and most of all, the time spent together. It was then that I re-connected with the reason why I wrote the book. My hope for Playful Learning is that it is a memory-making book. My hope is that parents and teachers may find a bit of inspiration that helps them to share in and enjoy those incredible ah-ha, sparkle in the eyes, fire in the belly moments with the children in their lives. My hope is that all families experience a sense of joy and wonder for all of the big and little things—because those are the moments that truly make all of this worthwhile.
