Art Area

As many of you know I love to design creative spaces for children. It all started in the classroom where I was able to see firsthand how the environment can influence children’s behavior. Now on a more personal level I have seen the same phenomena with my own children at home. I love to witness how the girls use materials in new and creative ways when they are accessible and presented in an interesting manner.

Although we have a closet that houses many of our materials, it is nice to select a few to leave out in a tempting display—one that invites children to engage. I like to change up the items that are out based on the girl’s changing interests. I am sensing a jewelry station in the near future…

What are your favorite art supplies these days? How do you organize them?
