A Bowling Party

January 22, 2010

My oldest daughter recently celebrated her seventh birthday. Gone are the days when all she wanted were pink princess parties. She was very clear about wanting a bowling party this year so we followed her lead. I have to admit, at first, I was a bit disappointed. No cute craft project? And how was I supposed to make a bowling alley look artsy? Nonetheless, we loved handmaking the invitations and found some fun items to put together for the favors (see below).

As the big day quickly approached, her enthusiasm won me over—and you know what? She was right—as soon as they dimmed the lights, flipped the cosmic bowling switch, and turned up the Michael Jackson tunes, the girls had the time of their lives.
